UK Holiday Cottages
Holiday Cottages are a very popular choice for holidays with family and friends as you can often find accommodation large enough to fit everyone in together. They're also great for people either can't or don't want to travel abroad.
There are a wide range of companies and private owners offering holiday cottages throughout the year giving you the opportunity to stay in a popular coastal resort in say Cornwall or a quiet country retreat in Ireland, Wales, Scotland or perhaps the Cotswolds or Lake District. If you're taking children try to make sure that there's plenty of local attractions near by - especially all-weather ones. Its also a good idea to check the whereabouts of local supermarkets and shops so you haven't got a long drive to pick up food and essentials. A good pub nearby also comes in handy for grabbing a meal and having a relaxing evening.
Before you book make sure that there are no hidden costs and that you know whether you will be paying extra for services such as gas and electric as they can soon mount up. Look around the internet for reviews and recommendations (Try not to take these reviews at face value though - beware of owners writing their own bias reviews and try to read between the lines). You could also ask family and friends or work collegues for any suggestions for an unbiased view.
